Abuja - The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has raised alarm over what it described as unprecedented starvation in the country.
The pro-Biafra group says the current starvation ravaging Nigeria has never occurred in the history of the country.
The group in a statement on Tuesday, September 6, and made available to News24 Nigeria entitled: “An Uninspiring Melodrama”, faulted the security agencies, especially the Department of State Services (DSS) for distracting Nigerians with tales of purported divisions in IPOB instead of finding solutions to the spate at which Nigerians were hanging themselves and dropping suicide notes for President Muhammadu Buhari.
IPOB described as comical the tales of purported divisions within it ranks, adding that those behind such stories know that their childish storyline is not believable, but went ahead to amuse the world for some reasons.

It said: “One, they wrote a request for approval of a huge imprest to create imaginary splinter groups, so they could make some money for themselves as times are so hard. The security operatives are at a loss how to pay school fees and feed their families at this period of great hunger in the land.
“The fact remains, that the idiotic choice of attempting to create imaginary splinter groups is a total waste of time, energy and resources.”
The group said those sponsoring tales of split within IPOB are only making compound fools of themselves.
IPOB also questioned the quantity, calibre and intelligence of the characters who run the intelligence services in the country.
