Lagos - The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) in a new statement have advised the Nigerian Defence Headquarters and the presidency to get a strong team of lawyers Instead of spending money on a 12-man military-led committee on human rights.
As IPOB seeks jail terms for Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai and President Muhammadu Buhari at The Hague for human rights abuses and extra-judicial killings against members of IPOB.
On Monday, the 21st of March 2016, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters, inaugurated a human rights committee to look into the complaints of human rights abuses leveled against the military.

The areas of contention include the issues emanating from clashes with the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and Rivers State election rerun amongst others.
“How can a murderer investigate his own crime? This is another waste of public funds in a country where the average citizen lives on less than half-dollar in a day.” the statement said.
