IPOB splits, re-brands due to Kanu in detention

24 August 2016, 18:16

Abuja - The Indigenous People of Biafra have allegedly split and can now be known as The Re-branded Indigenous People of Biafra due to the detention of Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, Vanguard reported.

Spokesperson of the split group, Chima Osuji, has stated that the decision to breakaway was made during an emergency meeting in Abia State.

Osuji states "it was resolved that due to rigid and fatalistic position of Nnamdi Kanu, several of us like minded shall breakaway and form The Re-branded Indigenous People of Biafra." The group is also known as TRIPOB.

The new group wants Biafra to not be a reality come October 2016 and therefore will also set alight the Biafra flag in Abuja.

The group further stated that they want a new way of thinking and don't want to be victims of their mentality.

IPOB had promised to liberate and resolve all issues that are based internally.
