IPOB threatens war over Kanu's alleged starvation in prison

Awka - The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has threatened to disturb public peace if anything happens to its detained leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu following allegations that he was being denied access to food and toiletries in prison, reports Sun.

The group said it was ready to organise series of protests that have never been heard of in Nigeria if the allegations are true.

Addressing newsmen in Nnewi, Anambra state, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Officer, Emma Powerfu said information reaching members is that Kanu is being subjected to serious of intimidation and harassment by some prison officials in Kuje Prison.

He noted that inhuman treatment being meted to Kanu was meant to demoralise him as directed by the Federal Government’s agents, who are now convinced that he will be set free by the court at the end of the day.

He stated that the plan is to starve Kanu to death so that he does not come alive from the prison.
