Isoko group wants Buhari impeached

26 February 2016, 19:00

Abuja – The Isoko Vanguard for Change, a Delta State pressure group, has called for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari saying it had lost faith in his leadership.

Spokesperson, Gilead Ekomeko Omaha, said the organisation had “cautiously” studied the All Progressives Congress-led Muhammadu Buhari Federal Government since its inception from May last year.

“While the government appears to have concentrated so much of its time, energy and resources on probe, the Nigerian nation is sliding on the precipice. The socio-economic lives of Nigerians are threatened by the present economic realities of the nation,” said Omaha.

He cited a number of problems he believes Buhari’s government might have handled better.

Among the issues are lack of an economic blueprint, fuel scarcity, loss of jobs, worsening security situation and disregard to court rulings.

“It is based on the above (10) points, that we call on the National Assembly to commence impeachment procedure on Buhari,” said Omaha.
