Jonathan's health reportedly failing over frozen accounts

27 October 2016, 16:41

Abuja - Some women have alleged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was worsening the health of former First Lady Patience Jonathan by hindering access to her funds.

The women, protesting in Port Harcourt under the aegis of Voice of Niger Delta Women, opposed the freezing of her accounts.

Members denounced the action by the anti graft agency through placards, alleging the organization was treating Jonathan unfairly.

Leader of the protesters, Rita Onwunali Adandigbo, said, “We are here to express its worry over the deteriorating health situation of Mrs Patience Jonathan owing to the non-release of her money by the EFCC.”

South-South Zonal Head of Public Affairs of the EFCC, Oladele Oyewale, assured the protestors their grievances would be addressed.

He said these concerns would be addressed to Executive chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

Jonathan’s accounts have been frozen as part of a probe into fraud.
