Judge begged DSS over N500million bribe

11 October 2016, 20:30

Abuja - A judge reportedly begged the Director of Department of State Service (DSS) , Lawan Daura when confronted with strong evidence that he got more than N500million bribe, reports The Nation

The judge, whose identity was not disclosed was said to have pleaded with Daura not to expose him.

When he was confronted with proofs that he had taken the bribe, the judge was reported to have prostrated and held the legs of the security chief, begging for forgiveness.

Sources said the judge's action was captured on camera.

The judge was reported to the National Judicial Council (NJC) with enough evidence.

But he was cleared by the NJC as having committed no wrong.

The sources added that since the NJC could not do the needful, the DSS decided to subject him to a judicial process.

It was gathered that when operatives of the DSS stormed his residence, the judge refused to unlock the safe in his house for the operatives to have access to its contents.
