Kidnappers of Bayelsa legislator’s father demand N70m ransom

Yenogoa - Kidnappers of Watson Iti, the father of the member representing Brass Constituency 2 in the Bayelsa state House of Assembly, Hon. Alfred Belimote Watson, has demanded the sum of N70million ransom for his release, reports Thisday

The old man was whisked away at about 9am on Saturday while on his way to Egweama from Okpoama in Brass Local Government Area of the State, reports News 24..
It was learnt he was on his way to bury his late wife, Comfort Watson, when the gunmen attacked his speed boat and whisked him to an unknown destination.

The abductors called the lawmaker at about 11.30pm demanding N70m to release his father.

It was gathered that the gunmen contacted the victim’s lawmaker son with his telephone number to make the demand.

When contacted Watson confirmed that the kidnappers contacted him and demanded the ransom but said he had no money to give them.
