Killers of Ex-FUTA VC to die by hanging

Akure - An Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure yesterday sentenced to death by hanging two persons- Ita Enang and Olayemi Bamitale- for killing the former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. Albert Ilemobade, Vanguard reports

Enang and Bamitale were domestic workers (gateman and driver), killed Ilemobade on June 21, last year, and dumped his remains in an empty stall in his compound at Ijapo,Akure.

Delivering judgement, Justice Williams Olamide found them guilty of the three-count charge of conspiracy to murder, murder and robbery.

He held that the prosecution was able to establish and prove the case against the former domestic staff of the late professor beyond reasonable doubt and to the satisfaction of the court.

The suspects stole his Toyota Rav 4 and other items.

The don’s remains were later discovered by family members, a week later.

The criminals were arrested in Ogun State by policemen, while attempting to dispose off the stolen items.
