Kogi governor’s whereabouts unknown

07 November 2016, 10:59

Lokoja - The whereabouts of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is currently unknown.

The governor has not appeared in public in the last two weeks, reports Punch.

There are speculations that the governor might have been flown abroad to treat an undisclosed ailment.

All state functions have been put on hold leaving the Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba, with only the duty of receiving visitors on behalf of his boss.

There were also reports in the social media on Sunday that the governor has passed away.

However, Gov Bello's spokesman, Kingsley Fanwo has denied that the governor is nursing any ailment or he is dead.

Fanwo urged the public to discountenance the rumour, describing it as lacking any iota of truth.

He stated that the governor is hale and hearty and will return from his two weeks break on the November 12.
