Kogi youths lash out at Melaye, call him a 'disgrace'

22 July 2016, 08:26

Abuja - A group of youths in Kogi State have lashed out at Senator Dino Melaye, describing him as a "disgrace" and calling for his suspension.

According to a Naij report, the Kogi Youths for Good Governance staged a protest at the National Assembly on Thursday while claiming that the Senator has disgraced his constituency following his altercation with Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The group, which stormed the National Assembly at around 9 a.m. on Thursday, brandished placards while warning that they will continue to protest should Melaye not be suspended.

Reports emerged last week indicating that Melaye had threatened Tinubu during a closed-door session within the Senate, with Melaye claiming that he would beat Tinubu up and impregnate her.

Melaye has since denied the allegations, while Tinubu has written a petition to the Inspector General of Police, the Senate and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
