Lagos man rapes 7 year old looking for missing voucher

28 July 2016, 07:45

Abuja - A trader in FESTAC Town, Lagos State, has allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl while she was out searching for a missing voucher, Punch reports.

The victim, Victoria, was reportedly out running an errand when the horrific incident took place.

The girl is alleged to have misplaced a recharge voucher on her way home from the shop, promptly being chased out of the house by those who had requested it to go out in search of the missing airtime.

The suspect, identified as Ikechukwu Alu, found the girl and abducted her, forcing her to spend the night at a nearby shop and raping her in the process.

When residents reported that they had spotted Alu leaving the shop with Victoria on his back, they became suspicious, throwing ash on him and calling security operatives to come out and investigate the scene.

Victoria alleged that Alu had "put his thing" in her "bum-bum" leading to medical tests at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital to conclude that she had been defiled.

Alu has since claimed innocent after a charge of rape was posed against him.

He has been granted bail, with the case being adjourned to August 11.
