Lagos police arrest cult members involved in bloody clash

Abuja - The Lagos Police Command revealed on Sunday that they had arrested seven suspected cult members who engaged in a bloody supremacy battle over the weekend.

According to a Punch report, members of the Eiye Confraternity engaged a rival cult, Aiye Confraternity, in a turf war that resulted in the death of a 65-year-old woman.

The deceased, identified as Adejoke Adefuye, is said to have been burnt to death in her home after the residence was set alight by the gang members.

Dolapo Badmus, PR Officer for the State Police, confirmed the arrests, as well as some of the weapons used in the clash.

Badmus has stated that further investigation will be conducted into the incident and that the case had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation in Yaba.
