Lagos teen commits suicide over jilted lover

Abuja - A 19-year-old girl has reportedly committed suicide in the Igando LGA of Lagos State after being rejected by her lover.

According to a Naij report, Uche Obiora allegedly drank poison following an altercation with her boyfriend.

Conflicting reports have suggested that the incident occurred after a fight between the couple, while a separate report claims that the girl was rejected by her boyfriend.

The girl's lover, Ernest Ihaza, is said to have been left in a state of shock when he returned to to the apartment where he left Obiora, only to find her writhing on the floor in pain while clutching her stomach, Vanguard reports.

Dolapo Badmus, PR Officer for the Lagos State Police, has since confirmed the incident, stating the deceased consumed snipers insecticide in order to aid her death.
