Abuja - The presidency has explained the real reason why President Muhammadu Buhari at the last minute cancelled his official visit to Lagos State, Vanguard reports.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said that the President is faced with scheduling difficulties and that is the reason for the postponement of the visit.
He said he needs more time for Lagos and for Edo which had earlier been stepped down.

He stated that the visit has been scaled down and he is being represented by the VP, who is going to Lagos to commission a few projects, leaving the rest for President Buhari.
Today.ng, however reports that the president cancelled his trip as a result of last minute security report purporting that there were plans to embarrass him over alleged unpopular policies of his administration.
The security report, according to sources, fingered a prominent national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who is suspected to be working underground with other politicians, especially from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to form a new party.
The uncertainty of the protesting members of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) suspending their mass action over fuel price increase as the president was billed to arrive in Lagos was said to be another reason why the trip was cancelled.
It was earlier reported on various news outfit that the President cancelled his two-day working visit to Lagos on Monday due to an “ear infection”.
