Lagos woman sells sister's unborn child for N100,000

05 July 2016, 10:29

Abuja - Police in Lagos State have begun a search for a woman who is alleged to have attempted to sell her sister's unborn child for N100,000, Punch reports.

The suspect, Amaka Ogua, is alleged to have been running a baby factory after it was found that she had already collected N50,000 for the child.

In addition, the remaining N50,000 was to be paid upon the delivery of the baby by the suspect's younger sister, Nkechi.

Functioning off a tip-off, Lagos police sprung into action in order to investigate the case and locate the whereabouts of the missing suspect.

Officials have also claimed that the mother of the unborn child suffers from a mental issue but has claimed that her sister had previously brought a man to her house in order to impregnate her before selling the unborn baby off to a client.

After having given birth to her first child, Nkechi alleges that her sister had taken the baby away from her and sold it to an unknown person.

Now eight months pregnant, Nkechi is currently receiving care and has been taken to an area where she will be kept safe while the hunt for her sister remains ongoing.
