Abeokuta - A female undergraduate of Federal University of Agriculture, FUNAAB, Abeokuta (name withheld) and 18 others have been placed under surveillance for possible symptoms of Lassa fever in Ogun state, Vanguard reports.
The state Commissioner for Health, Babatunde Ipaye disclosed this while addressing newsmen at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The undergraduate and the 18 others were said to have had contact with the index case of Lagos, recorded in Ahmadiyyah Hospital in Ojokoro area of the state.
Dr. Isaac Adewole, the Minister of Health, described the yearly outbreak of Lassa fever in the country as a national embarrassment.
