Locals dominate Africa Energy Awards nominations

Lagos – Two local executives have been nominated for the Africa Energy Leader of the Year accolade ahead of the awards set for South Africa next week.

Among the five nominated are Yesufu Alonge, Head of Procurement and Power Contracts at the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trade and countryman,  Ifeanyi Orajaka, Chief Executive Officer of, GVE Projects.

They are nominated alongside Lucy Chege, General Manager-Infrastructure Finance Energy, Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), Ahmed Heikal, CEO of Qalaa Holdings and (Egypt) and Jasandra Nyker , CEO of Biotherm Energy (South Africa).

For the Small and Medium Company of the Year, Nigerian firms, GVE Projects and Gastec Group are nominated.

They will contest for the accolade with LTM Energy (South Africa), City Power (South Africa), Africa Finance Corporation, National Electrical Engineering Consultants (NEEC) Somalia and Vuselela Energy also from South Africa.

The awards will be presented next Wednesday in Johannesburg.
