Man abandons wife in hospital after breast surgery

20 September 2016, 10:06

Onitsha - A man has abandoned his wife Mrs Uzoamaka Onu at the New Mayor Hospital and Fertility Centre, Nkpor, Anambra State after a breast cancer surgery.

The situation, according to Vanguard, has seen the 39 year-old woman remain in the hospital for four months over non-payment of hospital bill of over N520 000.

Uzoamaka said her husband stopped visiting the hospital after she successfully underwent a surgery on her right breast and all attempts to reach him have proved abortive.

The mother of seven said her husband sells rat poison, and cannot afford the money to pay the balance, while appealing to good spirited Nigerians to come to her aid and help her to get back home.

News24 reported in October 2015 that former oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is under investigation over allegations of bribery and money laundering, has breast cancer and was to undergo surgery in Britain.
