Man stabs colleague for insulting his girlfriend in Lagos

25 February 2016, 18:06

Lagos - A man in Lagos was arrested after stabbing his colleague and two others in an alleged love triangle gone wrong.

According to Daily Post, Raphael Nwoye, 25, stabbed Ifeanyi Onuoha, 33, in the neck and back because he repeated insulted Nwoye’s girlfriend, Ngozi.

Nwoye claims that he asked Onuoha several times to desist from disrespecting his girlfriend but he did not.

On Tuesday, Onuoha arrived at work, and as the two casual workers were offloading containers, Onuoha allegedly made some quip about Nwoye’s girlfriend which made him so upset that he retreived a knife from his bag and stabbed Onuoha twice.

When two bystanders tried to intercept, Nwoye stabbed them as well.

“Sometime in January, Nwoye had raised the issue that Onuoha was misbehaving with his girlfriend because he insulted her, but they settled the quarrel,” Chukwi Ebuka, a security officer at the workplace, said. It seemed as if the topic was a sore point with both parties.

Onuoha died on the scene, while the other two bystanders were rushed to the hospital.

Nwoye is currently in police custody awaiting further investigation.
