Abuja - A civil servant is reported to have committed suicide over his inability to buy uniforms for his wife's Women's Day celebration at her church.
According to the Daily Post, the man, identified simply as Nwankwo, had not received his salary for several months and was struggling to meet the demands of his family.
Nwankwo is said to have left a suicide note in his sitting room before proceeding to take his own life.

The father of four is reported to have made excuses to not attend a church service with his family on the day of his death.
A source close to the family has claimed that the deceased had approached various family members and friends for financial assistance and food items in the lead up to his untimely death, Leadership has reported.
“ I have no other place to go, no hope, nothing to give to my children to eat and no salary for the past four months, am sorry I have to do this,” his suicide note said.
