Meet the Nigerian pastor who sends Muslims on pilgrimage to Mecca

29 December 2016, 15:10

Lagos - Popular Nigerian prophet, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has revealed that he sponsors some of the less privileged people in his foundation to Mecca to observe the hajj pilgrimage, Naij reports.

The spiritual head of INRI Spiritual Evangelical church, Lagos, said that he does his best to look after the underprivileged, widows, orphans who he identifies in the society.

Primate Ayodele who is well known in Nigeria for his prophecies and warnings to the government over impending dangers, said: "I have been doing this for the past 13 years and there is nothing unusual for us.

"I have a foundation that takes care of the widows, orphans, less privileged and the vulnerable in the society. This year's purchases were very expensive, but we thank God that we survived it.

"I do this for Muslim widows as well, I send them to Mecca, while the Christians among them go to Jerusalem; some of them recently returned from the Holy Land after observing the pilgrimage."

Asked if he does the things he does just to gain cheap popularity among the people and the comity of revered men of God, he replied that he does not stand to benefit anything from the whole deal apart from the joy that he derives from making people happy.

Meanwhile controversial journalist Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, has asked Muslims to tear up the Quran according to News24.

The very outspoken Kemi, shared the controversial post on her Facebook page, where she gave her reasons for saying the things she said.

According to her, the Quran is a tool of destruction, and shouldn't even be touched by 'any reasonable Muslim'.
