Abuja - Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has disclosed that Senator Dino Melaye threatened to rape her in a petition she sent to the leaderships of the All Progressives Congress and the Senate over her clash, last week, with Dino Melaye, Premium Times reports.
The petition followed an earlier letter to the acting Inspector of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in which she asked for “adequate security” for fear Melaye might kill her.
The two senators, who are members of the ruling APC, clashed during a Senate closed-door session last Tuesday.
In Tinubu’s letters, separately delivered to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and APC Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, Tuesday, she expressed worry that the Senate leadership had not taken action to address Melaye’s “threatening misconduct”.
Melaye had earlier claimed that he only referred to Senator Orulemi Tinubu as a stupid woman on the floor of the Senate during an executive session after she called him a dog and thug according to News24.
He denied ever using vulgar words against her or threatening physical harm towards Orulemi, who is the wife of the leader of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu.
He vowed to never apologise to Tinubu for allegedly assaulting his wife, saying that Tinubu had no control over his political career as he was not omnipotent.
