Melaye threatens to beat up Tinubu over Saraki’s trial

12 July 2016, 18:32

Abuja - Senator Dino Melaye on Tuesday threatened to beat Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, reports Sahara Reporters.

The incident happened during the executive session of the Senate.

The session was chaired by Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

During the session, Melaye insisted that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, must be brought before the Senate to be thoroughly grilled and humiliated for charging the Senate leadership with forgery in court.

He called on the senators in attendance to fight the Presidency to a standstill until the forgery case against Saraki and others is dropped.

Tinubu, however, cautioned senators to be diplomatic in handling the issue of the forgery case.

She urged Senators to close ranks and seek reconciliation amongst its members.

Not satisfied with Tinubu’s comments, a visibly angry Melaye flew into rage, calling her names.

He then threatened to beat Tinubu, noting that noting will happen.

Other senators quickly rallied round Senator Tinubu to protect her.
