Abuja - The patriarch of Delta State's Ibru family, Olorogun Ibru, has passed away.
According to a Punch report, the business mogul died at a hospital in the United State of America on Tuesday morning.
A former officer of the Republic during his prime, Ibru is said to also have functioned as the Chairman of the Michael and Cecilia Foundation, which carries out various projects to promote human development and existence.

Reacting to Ibru's death, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa described the passage of the patriarch as a "national loss", while saying it was received with sadness and an immense feeling of loss, The Cable reports.
"As a state, we also recall with immense gratitude the role played by the late Olorogun Michael Ibru in the creation of our beloved Delta State. The Urhobo Nation and indeed Deltans have lost a great man who was indeed a pride to Deltans," a statement released by Okowa read in part.
