Militant group dumps Clark's dialogue team

22 August 2016, 20:45

Abuja - A new militant group operating in the Niger Delta has given the Federal Government to not have a dialogue with Chief Edwin Clark on behalf of the militant, Punch reported.

The group stated that Ijaw National Leader cannot negotiate on their behalf as the militants feel Clark's team is part of a 'gang of breast-pocket politicians.'

The militants would rather have the FG build up a way forward personally with the group.

Spokesperson of the group, Aldo Agbalaja, has stated that "build on this group and reach out to people, not on the Edwin Clark group."

The group further states that they deserve a better deal than people negotiating on their behalf.

Earlier in the year, the Chief of Army Staff had stated that they will not hold with militant groups.
