Niger Delta - Warri militants are suspected of attacking a major crude oil exports trunk line, Trans Ramos, belonging to the Shell Petroleum Development Company, SHDCin Delta State on Sunday, Vanguard reports.

According to eyewitnesses the attack occurred at 1:00 am in the morning with the blast rattling homes in nearby communities with a huge ball of fire visible.
News24 Nigeria reported that Nigeria is ready to deploy troops to the Niger delta in a showdown with militants who have wreaked havoc on the nation's key oil infrastructure since the start of the year, the army says.
Special forces are due to begin training for a possible operation against the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), which if carried out would be the first in the oil-rich region since 2009.
