Maiduguri - The military earlier today confirmed a suicide attack in Maiduguri, Borno State, killing two people and injuring 18 others, Vanguard reports.
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director of the Army Public Relations confirmed through an email that there had been a suicide attack at the entrance of Musa Osman Secretariat in.

Usman said that Nigerian police officials intercepted the male suicide bomber at the entrance of the Borno State Government Secretariat but in the process of apprehending him, he managed to detonate an Improvised Explosive Device.
The explosion instantly killed the suicide bomber, a policeman and critically injured another policeman.
The blast also to varying degrees injured 18 other people.
Usman also stated that this traumatic event has reinforced the need for more security in the area.
