Mobile money proponents to be awarded in Lagos

Lagos - Innovative individuals and firms in the continent’s mobile money sector will be recognised next month  during the sixth Kalahari Awards scheduled for Lagos.

The events gala is established and dedicated to acknowledge creativity, commitment and excellence in the remittance and mobile financial services ecosystem in Africa since 2001.

Winners will be announced at the Remittance and Mobile Money Expo February 2-3.

Award entries are open to all stakeholders in the remittance services industry with at least one active deployment or on-going partnerships in the Africa market.

It is also open to remittance providers, financial institutions, mobile money providers, micro finance entities, mobile network operators, independent firms, card processors and others.

An independent panel of expert judges will decide the winners, based on a number of criteria.

This includes geographic market penetration, ongoing evidence of commercial campaigns, regulatory compliance where necessary, cross sector partnerships, active deployments and future potential for further growth.
