Abuja – The recurrent violence in the Rivers
State continues claiming lives with no solution for the disturbances in sight.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) reported thugs went
on a rampage on Monday and in the process killed and burnt Ofinjite Amachree,
its chieftain in Asari-Toru local government area.
APC reported on the same day, an APC member by name
Tubotamuno Wariso was also attacked and beaten to death at Opobo Town,
Opobo/Nkoro LGA by known cult boys.
Last Saturday, an APC chieftain, Franklin Obi, was
reportedly killed and beheaded by assailants in his home.

It is reported his wife and son were also killed.
The killing happened less than 48 hours after the
reported killing of Franklin Obi, an APC Ward 4 Chairman in a local government
“The APC believes that the present killings are part of
the scare tactics of the PDP (People’s Democratic Party), something the state
governor, Nyesom Wike referred to after his Supreme Court victory,” said Chris
Finebone, APC State Publicity Secretary.
PDP has distanced itself from the violence.
