Musa projects massive investments in ICT sector

23 November 2016, 21:03

Lagos - Nigeria Communications Commission publicist, Yakubu Musa, is confident of investments into the local sector following Nigeria’s participation at the International Telecommunication Union Telecom World.

Musa, the Special Advisor to the Vice Chairman of the NCC, said delegates representing the country had made convincing presentations to delegates and potential investors at the recent ITU event in Bangkok, Thailand.

“All said, this year’s country’s participation at ITU Telecoms World has served its purpose as a huge confidence booster for prospective investors eyeing opportunities in Nigeria’s telecoms sector,” said Musa.

He is Special Advisor to Umar Garba Danbatta, the NCC executive.

Musa said it would thus not be surprising if an “avalanche” of proposals was already piling up in the mailboxes awaiting delegates’ attention.

“It’s a digital world, after all.”

Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, led the delegation to the ITU summit.

Danbatta, Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Elrufai, Funke Opeke of MainOne and Ibrahim Dikko of Etisalat Nigeria were part of the assignment.

“By all standards, Nigeria had a very impressive outing at Bangkok 2016.

And, this was no accident. Everything was painstakingly organised,” said Musa.
