Abuja - A 62-year-old man has found himself behind bars after it was discovered that he had been parading himself as a a colonel in the Nigerian Army, Punch reports.

Leye Oyebade, Oyo State Police Commissioner, confirmed Idris' arrest, saying that a petition has been filed against him.

According to Oyebade, Idris had been promising Mustapha an oil importation certificate since 2012, following which he failed to deliver after receiving funds.

Although the suspect has admitted to receiving money from the victim in installments, he denies that the funds amount to N40 million.

Idris has since disclosed that he only collected N16 million from Mustapha and had every intention of seeing the deal through to completion.
