Abuja - The Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission has
stated that there will be no tariff increase on electricity as previously
stated by distribution companies, Vanguard reported.
According to reports, distribution companies such as Nigeria
Electricity Supply Industry are demanding a 100 percent increase in tariffs.
NERC has come out stating that they have not received any
request for a 100 percent increase.

Nigerians are currently experiencing economy challenges and
this would not be the time to be increasing electricity tariffs.
Electrical distribution companies should be responsible to
appreciate the state of the economy.
In the past the Nigeria Labour Congress has once picketed over the non-reduction of electricity tariff.
