Niger Delta Avengers military arm of PDP - Akpabio aide

10 July 2016, 07:13

Abuja - An aide on diaspora to former Governor Godswill Akpabio has sensationally claimed that the Niger Delta Avengers is the military arm of the Peoples Democratic Party, Naij reports.

Atta Ikiddeh, shared this on his Facebook page, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari's administration were turning the Avengers into their military wing while describing the government as a joke.

"A very dangerous scenario is unfolding. I wouldn't be surprised if a copycat group in the North becomes the clandestine military wing of the All Progressives Party, APC, not with their permission ofcourse, but this is how these things begin to take shape, they get out of our control, Boko Haram is our perfect example," Ikiddeh said.

He added that he was only sharing his personal opinion as he cares deeply about Nigeria.

News24 Nigeria reported that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has reaffirmed its intention to repair all damaged oil pipelines attacked by the Niger Delta Avengers while outlining a 12-point plan to create an all-inclusive internal advisory console of security.

President Buhari has recently also insisted that Nigeria's unity was not negotiable after fresh attacks by the Avengers on oil pipelines.
