In an apology made available to the DSS on October 23,  Kanu also apologised to former President Goodluck Jonathan and Igbo elders, offering remorse for "uncomplimentary things" that he has said about them in the past.

In additon, Kanu will also supposedly offer a private letter of apology to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kanu, however, says that he remains unapologetic on his demand for a Republic of Biafra.
