Abuja - The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation says that it is putting initiatives in place to make Nigeria self-sufficient in the supply of petroleum products, as the country continues to suffer from fuel shortages.
These constant shortages is now forcing the corporation to use new elaborate ways to make the country more self-sufficient.

The NNPC has firstly started to increasing the refining capacity of the existing refineries to balance the country's needs.
However even with the refineries operating at optimal capacity, it still would only provide nearly fifty percent of Nigeria's consumption.
