No legal justification for re-arrest of Dasuki, Kanu - lawyer claims

Lagos – Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has said that the re-arrests of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, and Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Advisor have no legal justification, Punch reports.

As both Dasuki and Kanu were awarded bail, Falana argued that the correct channels for the security personnel to go through would be to appeal against the bail rulings by the court instead of re-arresting them.

He said that since President Muhammadu Buhari won the election on the premise of fighting corruption, he should work harder to make sure that all areas of government worked in alignment with the laws of the country.

As both men had met their bail conditions they should have been released from prison, Falana argued.
