Adesina cited President Muhammadu Buhari in a recent interview as saying that he had no idea that corruption was such an ingrained cancer in the country.

He added that the Buhari administration however, were fully committed to indicting anyone found guilty of corruption, even members of the ruling party.

President Buhari himself said that he was ready to be investigated on any alleged corruption charges.

Adesina then said that the Buhari administration were determined to revive the economy, but could only do so once the fight on corruption is won.
