Nurse drugs, rapes 19 year old patient

Abuja - A 27-year-old Lagos-based nurse has been accused of drugging and raping a 19-year-old patient while on duty.

According to Punch, Olugbenga Isaac was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate's Court on Tuesday after he was reported to have had forced sexual intercourse with the patient.

Inspector Clifford Ogu, the prosecutor in the case, claimed that the complainant had been sick and had called on Isaac to treat her for toothache.

“The complainant regained consciousness after several hours and was bleeding from her private part. It then dawned on her that she had been raped,” he said.

The accused has since pleaded not guilty to the allegation and was subsequently granted N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

The case has since been adjourned to November 30 for mention, Vanguard reports.
