Abuja - Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that "selfish leaders" have hindered the growth and progress of the country, Vanguard reports.
Speaking during a meeting with the Scout Association of Nigeria, Obasanjo advised that every leader put the interests of the people before all else.
While being decorated with as Messenger of Peace Ambassador for Africa, Obasanjo noted that the honour brought about memories of when he became Queen's Scout, saying that for a leader to succeed he must always be prepared to face challenges.

He urged leaders to work collectively and provide leadership that will lead to progress.
He assured the group that he would fix a date with President Muhammadu Buhari for his decoration as the Grand Patron of the association.
