Abuja - Renowned singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, has
opened about her disengagement as Director General of the National Centre for
Women Development was due to the continuous abuse she received because she is
an Igbo woman, Daily Post reported.
This comes after President Muhammadu Buhari sacked 23
federal government parastatals, agencies and commissions which Onwenu was part
She claims that she was always targeted and abused for being
an Igbo woman who sidelined people.

Onwenu states that she was often blackmailed and sabotaged
for doing her doing as she gave it her all.
As a proud Onyigbo, she will continue to love and respect
herself and Nigeria will not hold unless everyone comes to the realization that
the country needs to work together in order to move forward,
