Abuja - Unknown gunmen are alleged to have shot down and killed an official from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who also happens to be a security officer for the Ooni of Ife, Punch has reported.

The guard, identified only as Marcus, was said to have been returning to the front gate of the Ooni's residence when the shootout occurred.

Folarin has confirmed that three suspects have since been arrested in connection with the crime, adding that an investigation has begun into the matter.
