Abuja - Unknown gunmen are alleged to have shot down and killed an official from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who also happens to be a security officer for the Ooni of Ife, Punch has reported.
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, commonly referred to as Ooni, is alleged to have lost his guard on Sunday during a shootout at the Ooni's residence in Ile-Ife.

The guard, identified only as Marcus, was said to have been returning to the front gate of the Ooni's residence when the shootout occurred.
Wale Folarin, Head of the PR Unit at the NSCDC in the state, confirmed the killing, saying that hoodlums made away with his gun.
Folarin has confirmed that three suspects have since been arrested in connection with the crime, adding that an investigation has begun into the matter.
