Operation Crocodile Smile arrests more militants in Delta

Delta - The Nigerian Army has arrested more than ten suspects during the ongoing Operation Crocodile Smile to rid the restive Niger Delta of crime.

Troops of 4 Brigade conducted the operations at suspected criminal hideouts in the creeks around Ajaosolo, Okogho, Opumani and Obodo general area.

Two suspects named as Tokolo Sawyer and Showman Ebiere were arrested while another named as Kingsley Ebidimo and seven other unidentified suspects were arrested after they were allegedly found in possession of substances believed to be marijuana and some weapons.

Three other suspects, College Owahwa, Joseph Katte and Olisa Patrick found around the vicinity have been arrested. They are currently being questioned.

Among other wares confiscated include speedboats, weapons and refined crude oil.

Army spokesperson, Sani Kukasheka Usman, said troops continued conducting the training exercise near Bomadi town, Bomadi local government area and Pendo and Tuomu of Bururtu local government area of Delta State.

Operation Crocodile is an operation to address rampant crime in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
