PDP again condemns freezing of Fayose accounts

23 June 2016, 20:19

Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party has called the freezing of Governor Ayodele Fayose's accounts as unlawful saying that the Buhari administration are intent on silencing the opposition, Vanguard reports.

The PDP have again blasted President Muhammadu Buhari and the decision of his administration to interfere with sitting Governor, Ayodele's personal bank accounts.

The PDP said that this clearly goes against Nigeria's constitution and instead of rebuilding the country, President Buhari is now looking to silence his opposition.

They state that Buhari is looking to plaster over the cracks of his failing administration and shortcomings on his presidency thus far.

News24 Nigeria previously reported though that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission obtained clear evidence in the form of paper trails which prove Fayose's guilt in the misuse of state funds.

Governor Fayose has been involved also in a long-standing war of words with the Buhari administration with accusations being thrown back and forth.
