PDP back online following popular demand

Abuja - The National Working Committee (NWC) of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has order the reopening of the party’s official Twitter account.

It was shut on Tuesday after the party said the account, @PDP Nigeria, was compromised.

Chinwe Nnorom, Head of Publicity Division of the party, said the reopening was due to supporters’ demands.

“We have received reactions from some of our teeming members and supporters who are already familiar with the platform. In view of the, we have taken steps today to address the issues surrounding the Twitter handle,” Nnorom said.

She added that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party directed the National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, to open the official Twitter handle, which is the official platform of the  PDP.

“We regret any inconveniences the temporary shutdown may have caused our members, supporters and the general public,” Nnorom said.
