Abuja - A combined operation between troops within Operation Lafiya Dole and the Multinational Joint Task Force has led to an intense cleansing of Boko Haram strongholds in Borno State.
According to Naij, 79 abducted people were rescued, along with weapons and equipment that were recovered.

While five Boko Haram terrorists are said to have been killed during the operation, some of the terrorists managed to escape the scene with gunshot wounds and various other injuries.
In an effort to keep the Ditta-Damboa road open and secure, operatives are reported to have cleared Bulajani, Mulgwo and Muoto of Boko Haram elements.
