PHOTOS: Buhari and Wole Soyinka meet at Aso Rock

Abuja - Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka met with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed doors on Thursday at the presidential villa, Aso Rock.

According to a Punch report, the meeting lasted approximately one hour and was allegedly held inside the President's office.

Accompanied by former Managing Director for the Daily Times of Nigeria, Yomi Ogunbiyi, Soyinka's meeting with the President was described as private in nature, with the Presidency failing to release a statement on it.

“I didn’t come to see you people,” Professor Soyinka is reported to have said as he attempted to break through a barricade set up by journalists.

The Nobel Laureate stated that he would be holding a conference in a week to answer any questions pertaining to the meeting.
