Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has been conferred with a national honour during his two-day visit to Equatorial Guinea.
The Grand Collar of the Order of Independence, which was presented to Buhari on Monday night by President Mbasogo Nguesso, is the highest national honour in the country, Olisa.tv has reported.
While being treated to a state banquet upon his arrival, Buhari and Nguesso are said to have discussed joint efforts at combating extremism, piracy and oil theft within the region in addition to deliberations made over strategies to end the scourge of terrorism in West and Central Africa.
The banquet is reported to have been attended by top government officials from the host country as well as members of the diplomatic community.
