Uyo. Ex- militants numbering over 100 on Tuesday invaded the Akwa Ibom State Government House in a violent protest, reports NewsDay.
The militants were protesting the non payment of their allowances by the Federal Government.
Chanting songs, the militants blocked the entrance to the Government House and did not allow any vehicle entry or exit from the place for many hours.
They insisted on seeing Governor Udom Emmanuel at all cost.

They tried to force their way into the Government House but were prevented by armed security men.
Police later dispersed them with tear gas and firearms.
