PHOTOS: Nigerian Army releases images of captured Boko Haram terrorists

08 October 2016, 08:44

Abuja - The Nigerian Army has arrested what it believes is Boko Haram members who allegedly participated in terror attacks and cattle rustling, Naij reports.

The Army also confirmed that it had recovered stolen cattle that would be handed over to the cattle market committee that will look to return them to their rightful owners.

This follows a wave of arrests made by the army, who have arrested several Boko Haram members and terrorists in recent weeks, while also releasing images of the detained members.

News24 reported that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) stated that contrary to President Muhammadu Buhari's declarations, Nigerians still live in fear on a daily basis due to the threat of terror organisation, Boko Haram.

The UNHCR said that despite claims by Buhari that Boko Haram troops were completely defeated, the war against the terror group was still not over as people living in affected areas still lived in fear.
